Ingredients
  

Ingredients for Sugar Syrup

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice

Phyllo Pastry Sheets

  • 1 Packet Phyllo pastry sheets

Ingredients for Baklava filling

  • 1 cup Pistachios
  • 1 cup Walnuts
  • 1/2 cup Sagar

Instructions for Baklava fillings

  • Take one cup Pistachios.
  • Take one cup Walnuts.
  • Take 1/2 cup sugar.
  • Take one food processor, add pistachios, walnuts and sugar and pulse it together.
  • Keep the pulsed nuts aside in a plate.

Instructions for Sugar Syrup

  • Take one deep pot, add one cup sugar and 3/4 cup water. Cook sugar syrup on medium high heat until it boils then reduce the temperature to medium heat and cook for 6 minutes.
  • At the end of the syrup cooking process add 1 teaspoon lemon juice, mix together and turn off the heat. Keep the sugar syrup aside to cool it.

Instruction for making Baklava

  • Take the one packet of phyllo pastry sheet and unfold it.
  • Cut the phyllo pastry sheet into half.
  • Lay the half phyllo pastry sheet in a baking tray.
  • Add pulsed/ crushed pistachios, walnut nut and sugar filling on top of the half phyllo pastry sheet.
  • Pat the pulsed nuts on phyllo pastry and then add other half of phyllo pastry to it.
  • Cut the nut filled phyllo pastry into squares.
  • Take a 3/4 cup melted ghee.
  • Pour the melted ghee on top of square cut phyllo pastry.
  • Spread the ghee on all over the pieces.
  • After adding ghee, put the baklava try in the oven at 350 degree Fahrenheit for 50 minutes.
  • Keep the baklava tray in for another additional 5 minutes to bring the golden color to baklava.
  • Take the baklava tray out of the oven and immediately pour sugar syrup on the hot baklava.
  • Let the sugar syrup drenched baklava cool it down for 15 minutes.
  • Baklava is ready to eat.
