Goat Paya Curry

Goat paya curry is a dish made with goat trotters or feet cooked in a spicy gravy. It is a popular dish in Pakistan, India and other parts of South Asia. Goat paya curry is cooked for a long time until the meat is tender and the sauce is thick and flavorful. Some of the ingredients used are ghee, curry leaves, cardamom pods, onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, garam masala, cumin powder, turmeric and coriander powder. Ingredients
  

  • 3 pound Goat paya/trotters
  • 1 no onion
  • 6 tbsp Canola oil
  • 2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
  • 2 tsp Red Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 and 3/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 3 tbsp Garam masala
  • 4 cups water

Instructions
 

  • Take three pound cut goat paya and wash with water.
  • Wipe water with paper towel and lay the goat paya on the wire rack.
  • Preheat oven at 400 degree Fahrenheits. Put the goat paya wire rack on the tray. Then put tray in the oven for 45 minutes for baking the goat paya.
  • Once the paya are baked, let it cool down. Then take one bowl of water and wash baked goat paya.
  • Prepare the masala for paya curry.
  • Take one pot and add oil. Let the oil heat then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, cut onions, ginger garlic paste, and all garam masala. Cook it for 5 minutes, keep it aside.
  • Take instant pot pressure cooker to cook Goat paya curry for a long time until the meat is tender and the sauce is thick and flavorful.
  • Now put baked goat paya and cooked masala and 4 cups of water into the instant pot pressure cooker.
  • Put the lid on and set the timer on meat/stew settings.
  • After 30 minutes when the instant pot timer goes off to zero hour mode, turn of the instant pot, let it cool down for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the goat paya curry into serving bowl.
